Aunt Carol lived a very full life. Her sister, Monica Herle, my Mom, grew up not really knowing her as they were orphaned at a very young age. My Mom was only 5 so their very large family grew up in different households. I met Aunt Carol only a few times as a result, but the Ries family all bore a strong resemblance to each other. I know my Mom enjoyed the visits she had with her sister and the last was at my son's wedding in Ottawa in 2014. My Mom passed away in September 2015 at age 90. May Aunt Carol rest at peace.

My condolences to you. Carol and Carl were wonderful folks. I met them in Norway Bay in 1978. I have wonderful and fond memories of both of them. Carol was very involved in St.Edwards Church, and many of the community activities. One would not have known they were not from the area as they were loved by all who knew them. She missed Carl when he passed away, but always kept positive. always a smile and would ask how our family was.
