Marion and Family
It took me a long time to collect the memories that I have of Doug. From the time he moved to this area from Ajax to live with his Grandparents we spent a lot of our childhood days together. From the time he tried to teach me how to walk on stilts. To our bicycle ride to Quyon on December 24, 1962 in a freezing rain storm. (We didn’t make it passed Lindsay’s turn). From his first car a 1965 black Chev Impala that he was so proud of to the day he met the love of his life Marion.
With all the ups and downs he had in his life we always shared our thoughts over a beer or two and remained close Friends to the end.

I will always remember the good fun days when we worked together braiding garlic and picking hundreds of baskets of strawberries from your lovely orchard, and all the delicious B-B-Q steaks you would prepare for me. Where do I start? Doug, you entered my life when I was 6 years old. You were there for me when I was 11 and dad passed away.
So many wonderful fun memories! Dancing in Mom's living room, hunting for dew worms in the back yard lol
I'll never forget our trip to Niagara Falls when I was so scared in the haunted house and with your infectious laugh you told me I couldn't turn back! You introduced me to 50s & 60s rock n roll. Still my favorite to this day!
Kerry entered the scene when I was 13 and immediately we started making new memories. He will always remember the snowmobile trips, camping, board games and parties. And never to forget our family trip to Vermont!
Dougie, we will meet again, but until then you are in our hearts and the memories of our time spent together will always bring a smile to our faces.

Doug , you will always have a special place in my heart . I have wonderful memories of you and of all that you have done for me and my family. Hey Doug, I will always cherish our time together, so many great memories, especially snowmobiling, water skips, and baseball games! We had such great times. Our trip to Vermont will always be one of our best trips!!

Doug, so many memories just want to thank you for all you did for me, all the camping trips and the late night camping fires.
Playing games and cards for hours. Taking us down East on vacation come to think of it you were very brave with 5 girls for a whole week . Taking me fishing and how we always would catch an eel and you wanted me to get a rock to hit him so you could save the hook lol
I could go on and on but most of all I want to thank you for your time.
The best thing you can give anyone is TIME. So for that I thank you

Recently, I was remembering going to Onslow Intermediate School with Doug in Quyon, Quebec, and the last time I saw him, was at Zion United Church Cemetery, when I visited my sister, brother, and parents' gravesites. Doug lived next door, so we had a brief conversation. The family are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult transition.
