Obituary of Roger Rémi Lacroix

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger on Wednesday , September 30, 2020 in hospital, Shawville, Quebec at the age of 87. Son of the late Armini Lacroix and the late Florida Bisson. Caring husband of 63 years of Isabelle Chabot. Dedicated father and hero to Liliane (Marc), Colette (Denis), Robert (Angèle), Ronald and Nicole (André). Loving grandfather of Melissa (Robert), Jason (Vanessa), Nathalie (Jeff), Stéphanie (Andrew), Mathieu, Patrick, Anika (Roch), Angelica (Patrick) and Dahianna. Special great-grandfather of Jonathan, Liam, Jacob, Holly, Angel Cole and Benjamin. Predeceased by his siblings Jeannine (late Henri), Laurette (Dave) and Marcel (Hélène). He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Gilbert (Ann), Denis (Pierrette) and his sisters Sue and Pauline (Mike). Native of Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, he chose to make Campbell’s Bay his home in 1967. He was notorious for his passion and talent as a skilled welder-machinist, all was possible in his beloved shop. Known to many as a gentleman, with an open door welcome to all travelling through, creating wonderful memories for all. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A heartfelt thank you for the compassion and care given by doctors, nurses and staff of the palliative care unit of the Pontiac Community Hospital. An intimate and private Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec. Interment in parish cemetery. In memory of Roger, donations to the Friend’s of St. Joseph’s Manor foundation would be greatly appreciated. Grand-père bien-aimé de Melissa (Robert), Jason (Vanessa), Nathalie (Jeff), Stéphanie (Andrew), Mathieu, Patrick, Anika (Roch), Angelica (Patrick) et Dahianna. Arrière-grand-père spécial de Jonathan, Liam, Jacob, Holly, Ange Cole et Benjamin. Prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs Jeannine (feu Henri), Laurette (Dave) et Marcel (Hélène). Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères Gilbert (Ann), Denis (Pierrette) et ses sœurs Sue et Pauline (Mike). Originaire de Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, il a choisi Campbell’s Bay pour installer sa famille en 1967. Il était connu pour sa passion et son talent de soudeur-machiniste, tout était possible dans son atelier bien-aimé. Connu par beaucoup comme un gentil homme, avec une porte ouverte, toujours la bienvenue, créant de merveilleux souvenirs pour tous. Il sera manqué par nombreux, neveux, nièces et amis. Un grand merci pour la compassion et les soins prodigués par les médecins, les infirmières et le personnel de l'unité de soins palliatifs de l'hôpital communautaire du Pontiac. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée en privée et l’intimité de la famille à l’Église St-Jean l’Évangéliste, Campbell’s Bay, Québec . Inhumation cimetière paroissial.
