It has been a year & a half since Anne has died & I think of her so often. My memory is always of that beautiful smiling Irish face that greeted every single person she met.
I cannot think of Quyon without thinking of Anne. Every time I went to Quyon over the many years, whether a visitation at the funeral home or something at St. Mary’s Church or any event at the Lions centre.. I always searched to see if Anne was there and she usually was. She was so outgoing and involved.
And sure enough as soon as she saw me there …..over she would come smiling with a warm greeting & hug.
My mother Lois McCann Kensley & Dorothy Moore were very close friends growing up in Quyon even involved in each other’s weddings so those stories of Lois & Dorothy made a feeling of connection between the Kennedy’s & the McCann’s side of the family.
To all of Anne’s Family, friends & community there is no need to say what a huge loss it was to loose someone so beautiful & loved. Anne will always be in my heart & memories & every time I am in Quyon I know I will still be looking for her smiling face but I guess I will look up …smile & say Anne you probably are here looking down on all those people & places you loved so much.
I bet that smiling face will be there to greet everyone at the pearly gates.

To know Anne, was to love her. She had a quiet way about her, but her caring and compassionate personality shone through. Years ago when my Mom was admitted to a long-term facility, it broke my heart. One day, not long after Anne drove in to her daughter Brenda's driveway across the street from me. She got out of her car and saw me sitting on my front step. She walked across my lawn, and wrapped me in a two minute bear hug, and never said a word. She didn't have to. I got more comfort from that hug than you can ever imagine. The community has lost a tireless volunteer and many of us have lost a friend. Heartfelt sympathy to Jack, Christine, Brenda and the Kennedy and Clarke clans. Wishing you all peace and comfort at this terribly sad time. Anne was a gem. She will be missed!
