Obituary
Obituary of Michael "Mike" Benoit
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce that Mike has lost his battle to leukemia on Friday, May 29, 2020. He fought this challenge with positivity and a great sense of humour.
Beloved son of Ryan and Gisele Benoit. Dearest brother of Vicki (Ben), Jeff (Shelley) and Lee (Jen). Dear uncle of Erica, Nicholas, Isabelle, Morgan, Tori, Charlie, Owen, Allie and Sara. He will be forever missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mike truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with family members and eating the hottest wings. He loved everyone he met and would always make them laugh.
From 1989 to 1994, Mike served in the Canadian Armed Forces where he began his career as a driver and even drove the CFA ambulance. Then, Mike pursued his life long dream and passion as a long haul truck driver for Bison Transport for 20 years. He loved to share his stories of his travels across Canada and the USA.
Thank you to the nurses and medical team at the Ottawa General Hospital for the great continued care provided throughout his battle. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his amazing sense of humour.
The Benoit Family wish to invite all who knew Mike to come and share a memory. A "Drive-By Condolences" will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. at Gisèle and Ryan's home, 466 Chemin des Outaouais, Calumet Island, Quebec.
