I will greatly miss my friend Leonard. My last memory was not to long ago at their home
where an unexpected drop in was so welcome.
I was so honored that I was invited to speak to his group of bible study folks in their home last year. Always made me feel accepted and loved.
We will miss him singing with us at Grove's park Lodge.
I will miss his sincere love of God and his transparent love of God was evident in everything he did and said. His joy of the Lord got him through many battles and now he will be dancing in joy with His Savior and Lord.
God bless you now Madeleine and family as he has lain his mantle down for others to pick up and carry on.
Love to you all

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Leonard, he was a family friend what seemed like forever. He and my oldest brother garry was around the same age and use to hang out together as kids. He would always come and visit my father when he came back from Quebec and the later years him and Madeline would drop by for a sing song at my house and we had a great time. My condolences to Madeline and the family, we will always remember Leonard for his jolly nature. Love and prayers. Barry Denette and family.

Dear Mrs. Ballard and family. I am deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Rev. Ballard. There never was a sweeter, kinder more loving man. He always made me smile and laugh and his hugs were legendary. His love of the Lord never wavered as well as his love for his lovely Madeline and his family. I imagine he'll be having some KFC up there with my Mom and Dad. Boy they sure did think the world of him. Every Sunday Mrs. Ballard and my Dad would teach Sunday School in Portage and my Grandchildren attended. It was wonderful to see them singing and having such a great time there. I will never forget you and I know that God has a special place for you in Heaven. Till we all meet again may He hold you in his hands and bring peace to your loved ones. God bless you all. Orla

Dear Madeline and family,
We have lost a most precious treasure , good neighbour and fellow maritimer! His child like manner warmed our hearts and softened our resistance to his often silly jokes. His Hey .... Or anyhow, kept our attention as he told stories of wonder and intrigue about life . His crazydesire to walk the Appalation trail reduced to perhaps driving it, or just reading about it, or planting a big garden of cucumbers , tomatoes that actually ripened never were quite realized but his example of never giving up on his Christian walk stayed strong. We will miss him and share in your loss.

Precious Madeline and Family, you have lost a treasure. Leonard lived passionately...loving his God, his family and his friends with all of his heart. He brought joy with him wherever he went...with a word of testimony, a great story or a good laugh. He was my Dad’s true-blue friend. Thank you for being a part of our lives even though we were many miles apart, and thank you, too, for letting us be a part of yours. Charles and Janice Rutter.

Dear Madeline, so saddened by Leonard's passing. I had a good chat with him at church just prior to the big shut down. He was a joyful man and had that special maritime personality. He has probably looked up Lorraine already. The great hope we have is that one day we will join our life long partners. Will be praying for you and the family.
