Dear Sandy, I wanted to add my sincerest and deepest sympathies and tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. You already know what a kind, thoughtful, generous, loving, funny, and hardworking family-centred man you married. It always astounded me that every time I drove by your place he would give me a wave. I loved going to pick up my load of slab wood every fall and never purchased lumber anywhere else but Johnny's. I love that he called it his 'hobby.' He always struck the perfect balance between seriousness and humour and I appreciated that! I will plant a tree this spring in his memory. RIP Johnny.

Sandy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I first knew John as a customer almost 14 years ago but quickly that developed into a friendship. He was always cheerful and positive even when circumstances were not going his way so it was always a pleasure whenever he called. Just by the number of hours he put on his sawmill I knew he was passionate about his work. His energy level was so huge you could feel it through the phone. I only met him a handful of times but I will truly miss him.

I am very saddened to hear of the recent passing of John. I have only known John for several years and only wish it could have been longer. I considered John my friend.
John Gordon Pasch was a good man!
I met John several days before his passing and, as always with John, he shared a few stories and plenty of laughter!
John was a hard working man and passionate about his work! I asked John if he had started to think about retirement and he responded by saying, "I retired 28 years ago!" I asked him how 10-12 hour work days translated into retirement and his reply was, " This isn't work, it's my hobby!"
John was a hard worker.
John was a man of his word, he didn't need a contract, only a handshake!
John was honest and always gave you a fair deal!
Everyone who knew John, loved to spend time with him.
John was a caring, compassionate person.
My deepest condolences go out to his family, employee(s), and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him!
John Gordon Pasch was a good man and he was my friend!
In memory of John, I will plant several white pines trees this Spring in his honour.

I am very very sorry to hear of the passing of John, for many years I would come and see John and chat with him and bought a lot of wood from him for my cottage. I really enjoyed our chats and what he was doing and soon had gotten my own sawmill. Over the years I would come back to see him and he would always bug me with “have you sawn 1 million board feet yet?” he gave me tips and tricks not because he had too but because he wanted to help. He believed in people and sharing…
John was a professional expert sawyer,
John was an extremely hard worker,
John was strong,
John was a listener,
John gave his word and kept it,
John was a teacher,
John had time for everyone,
John was compassionate,
John was funny,
John was Kind,
John was a family man,
John was my friend.
The Oak Tree
------------------
A mighty wind blew night and day it stole the oak trees leaves away .
Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark until the Oak was tired and stark.
But still the Oak tree held its ground while other trees fell all around .
The weary wind gave up and spoke ’ how can u still be standing Oak’
The Oak tree said I know that you can break each branch of mine in two carry every leaf away , shake my limbs and make me sway
But I have roots strengthened in the earth , growing stronger since my birth you’ll never touch them for you see they are the deeper part of me .
Until today I wasn’t sure of just how much I can endure .
But now I’ve found with thanks to you I am stronger than I ever knew!
My sincere condolences to his family he will be missed.
I will plant a strong Oak Tree in his honour.
RIP John.

I will never forget that smile. Uncle John was always so warm but unusually quiet compared to our Dooher clan. Then he would lean into to whisper something quick witted leaving you in stitches. My fondest memory was the weekend we tobogganing together and Bill accidentally ran over me on our sled and as I licking my wounds John grabbed my shoulder and told me I should see the other guy. He walked me to the window and pointed to the “dent” I left in his hill. Needless to say, I forgot my woes.

Sandy, John will be greatly missed by all. I will miss the teasing and laughter. But happy I got to know him over the short few years. Every time I will look at my cottage there will always be a presence of John and a story of all the wood we got from him. Rest in peace John.
God bless
Paula, Steven, Matthew, James and Laurie Weston
