Obituary of Robert Sparling
Robert passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2020 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Son of the late Austin Sparling and of the late Ida Cluff. Beloved husband of Joanne Sparling (nee Purkis). Loved and cherished father of Julie (Jason Poon), Joanne and stepsons Timothy and Michael Stockford, step grandchildren of Brianna (Jesse), Tizik, and a great-granddaughter of Jocelyn.
Survived by his sisters; Meryle (late Hilliard Rebertz), Joyce (Hubert Beaudoin), Lynn (Lloyd Kluke) and Norma (Claude Bertrand).
Predeceased by his brothers; Warren (Florence) and Wilson (Anita) and sisters; Erma, (late Bill Hill), Mildred (late Willard Lance) and infant sister Mae.
Robert will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bob was a long-time employee of Erb Transport for 39 years and he loved to fish and hunt. He had an amazing sense of humour and made friends wherever he went. He will be laid to rest in his best camo.
Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 7 from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in St. James Anglican Church, Otter Lake, Quebec at 11 a.m. Interment St. James Anglican Cemetery, Otter Lake, Quebec in the spring.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
