Daisy and our mother Daphne were each others best friends from their Land Army days, where they lived and worked near Steyning in West Sussex, England. They remained in contact until our mother died, exchanging letters, greetings card and the latest school photos of all of the children. All of the photo's of the Devine children are spread around the family here, stored in our albums.
I had the pleasure of meeting Daisy and Earl in the 70's on one of their visits to England and on a recent visit in 2016 I made to Canada to meet up again.
The picture is of Daisy with a plant called Daphne which she had planted in memory of our mother.
This has been a friendship that has lasted 75 years. We owe so much to this generation and can only be in awe of what they had to endure to achieve peace and happiness.

Linden, Shirley, Earleen.
My most sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. I can remember playing at your house with Shirley when we were just youngsters and your Mom was so kind. I always thought she was such a brave lady, coming to a new country, and starting a new life here. I really enjoyed the book you wrote about your Mom and Dad. Maybe now I will take it off the shelf and read it again as a way to honour Daisy.

My sincere sympathy to Daisy's family. My most vivid memory of Daisy and Earl and family is from the time we spent at Shawville United Church. The Devine's sat 2 seats behind us and were faithful attendees. May all of your cherished memories help to console you as you grieve a life well lived. I enjoyed reading Daisy's Obituary.
