Obituary of Gloria Green
Gloria Green, aged 78, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 surrounded by family. Gloria is now reunited and dancing again with her one true love of 47 years and the only man who could really make her laugh, John Green. She's reunited with her sons Lorne and Christopher Green; her mother Marie Flora; and countless family pets. Gloria loved life and was never one for staying still. She was a pillar in the Shawville community for 46 years. She owned and operated Gloria's Beauty Salon until her retirement in 2006. She was an active member of the Rebecca’s and Oddfellow’s for a few decades. She was active in the Red Hat Society for over 15 years and a member of the Women’s Institute in recent years. She was a member of the Shawville Curling Club where she also ran the kitchen until her retirement in 2018. Gloria delighted everyone with her friendly smile, welcoming eyes, and delicious food. Gloria is survived by her beloved daughter, Eleanor Waters and her husband Robert; her grandchildren, Katrina, Joshua, Chad, Crystal, Colten, and Kamden are forever thankful for Nannie’s generosity and unwavering support and love over the years. Gloria did not want a funeral service and didn't want anyone to be sad (not for long, anyways)! Rather, she wanted everyone to gather their friends and raise a toast in her memory, remembering her smile, her laugh, and all the good times you had together. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation can be made in her honour. A private memorial service will be held in the summer. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hayes Funeral Home, Shawville, Quebec.
