I am deeply shocked and saddened by Pete’s passing.
He was a great friend and colleague at the S. P. S. He had a sharp whit and was always quick with a joke. He was conscientious and thoughtful.

I knew Peter from his time on the Hill, and while he worked for the Senate and SPS, I worked for the House so our paths crossed infrequently.
I did not know him very well, but I knew him enough to know that he was a nice guy who was dedicated.

Chère Céline, tu sais comment Peter était précieux pour moi et beaucoup de gens autour de lui, je te donne mes plus sincères sympathies à toi, ta famille et à sa famille. Il aura su nous donner des jours mémorables a se rappeler pour longtemps. Sa mémoire restera gravée a longtemps dans la mienne et sûrement dans celle de plusieurs qui auront eu la chance de le rencontrer et de le connaitre!

Celine,
I cannot express my deepest condolences to you and your family. When I started working on Parliament hill Peter was that guy with the wicked mustache, and the ability to mimick anyone and turn it into a chuckle. As my time extended and I got to know him, he turned into a man who offered me many encouraging and wise words be it work or personally related. Words used to this day and that I will hold dear. Most of all I will always remember going up to the cottage, introducing Peter to cream soda and rye and watching him play guitar as I sang away to Blue Rodeo (off key I'm sure).
