I dated Donnie in the mid-80s for a while. For some reason, I thought about him today & googled his name. I’m so sorry to read that he passed more than 1 year ago already. Please accept my sincere & belated condolences to the Laviolette family.

My sincerest condolences to the family, he will be dearly missed. So many wonderful times, so many memories, so much laughter when Donnie was around. Thank you Donnie for all of the years you were my brother-in-law, I always loved seeing you walk through our door. Thank you for giving me a ‘love of reading’, introducing me to Louis L’Amour all of those years ago certainly gave me a joy that’s lasted my lifetime You’ve been taken way too soon, RIP.

In my memories of years past and recent, I knew Donnie to be a gentle, caring, humble, non judgemental, and very well read intelligent guy who would never want to be a burden to anyone. So it was with overwhelming sadness to know that Donnie in his usual selfless way was facing such debilitating pain, suggesting it to be merely a flu bug. Dearest Donnie, you will be missed by many but we know that God has a new (bit of a card shark) Angel and that you are flying free!
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

With Deepest Condolences Cathy,Danny,Judy.
Memories of Donnie will always be when I slept over on the weekends at Aunt Pearl’s and him and his long pony tail. Use to joke with him that his hair was longer than most girls!! Yupe he said and not cutting it either!!
One day he did and boy that was a shock.
Also learnt to play a lot of different card games from him as well. He would show Judy & I different ones.
Great Memories of him and the family will always remain.❤️
Rest In Peace Cousin .

Wed, June 5th, 2019 (I got to visit Donnie -while he slept. I wrote my message to Cathy to update her - thought I might share some of it with you).
Hi Cathy,
I got here at 3:30 pm. Donnie is resting comfortably now.
I talked, Donnie listened, ha, ha (he was sleeping). I told him what a great first cousin and friend he was to me. He always treated me so well and always danced with me at the hotels. He was the finest two stepper around. We played umpteen games of pool, until the hotel would close down. I bet we played about 150 games over the years. I loved his Euchre tournaments too! Donnie was a teaser and loved to laugh. He was always in a good mood and loved having fun! He was a wonderful guy to everyone! Everyone gravitated towards him because of it. Greattttt Biggggg Heartttt!!! That’s our Donnie! Thank you Donnie for sharing your good old sweet self with little old me! My thoughts of you are always the best of memories! Even though you’re lying there sleeping...pretending not to hear me- I know you are hearing every word I say. I hope you don’t mind but I said prayers with him. For no more pain-for gratefulness that he was part of our lives and for the love, caring and kindness that he shared with everyone who met him. I swear he squeezed my hand when I was done. We have shared our best of memories together and I’m grateful that I had this time with him today. Thank you Cathy!
I love you all! Praying for all your strength and peace of heart over the next few days, months and difficult moments to come. 4:42 pm Wed., June 5th, 2019. Love you to the Max!

My deepest condolences. This sure comes as a surprise. Donnie will be sadly missed for sure. He and I shared some good laughs over the years. We would leave Ottawa after work and head to good old Kaz and Danford for some fun with friends. This is how I will remember him our time.
See you in the other side Don
Blessing,
Sandra
