Obituary of Aurel Chaput

Passed away, peacefully, at the Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, Quebec, on February 5, 2019 in his 79^th year.  Beloved husband of Madeleine Demers Chaput of 57 wonderful years.  Loving father of Lisa (Sylvain Groux), Noëlla (Perry McGuire) and Lila (Pat Norton).  Predeceased by his parents Mathias and Elida Chaput.  Cherished Pépère to 8 grand-children and 1 great granddaughter Abbie Bernard.  Dear brother of Lucille Chaput Vaillancourt (late Aurel), Edgar Chaput (late Shirley Stencill) and the late Rhéal Chaput.  He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.  Aurel worked at the Canada Veneers for 35 years.  He was a quiet man of few words.  He was an avid Bingo player, they nicknamed him “Bingo”.  He enjoyed our Sunday visits, especially with his grandchildren and his little great granddaughter Abbie.  He loved playing the fiddle with his brother Rhéal, he loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.  Our beautiful mother, Madeleine, took care of him all those years.  She didn’t have wings, but she certainly is our angel.  Funeral service will be held in St. Alphonsus Church, 7 Notre Dame Street, Chapeau, Quebec on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment in parish cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital or the Pontiac Community Hospital would be appreciated.
