I only heard of Dean's passing recently. I was deeply saddened to know that one of the planet's most enthusiastic humourists was no longer among us.
We worked together for years on the CAP program and social assistance cost sharing during the 1980's and 1990's. I was with the Province of Ontario.
There are moments in the 1980's in a Winnipeg taxicab where Dean directed the driver to explore many downtown streets of that city 'just to see what was there'. It is hard to stop laughing when I recall those times.
He left us with a legacy of a different type of deadpan humour that I have not seen replicated in anyone else.
He is missed by his colleagues.

Helen my thoughts & prayers are definitely with you & your family.
Helen & Dean since teen high School sweethearts. So many memories of all our teen years in Campbell's Bay and all our friends in the "gang".
When i think of Dean i always see him dressed in sports attire...Baseball...Hockey
he loved sports & was a real gentleman team player....and always that dry sense of humour.
It was great seeing both of you at the St.John's high reunion In August 2017.
Prayers that God will give you strength & angels to go with all of you...I know Dean will be watching over each of you. Peace,Health & Blessings ....Duane.

Dean was a great grandfather to our grand kids. It was nice to know our grandkids are well loved. He was very witty, kind and loving. He was a good friend to our son Joe. They loved to golf together and spend time in the forest. He was a very interesting person to talk to, a complex thinker, great listener but at the same time a simple guy everyone loved.
He will be missed
Our condolences to the family.
