A shining light is no more, for now he knocks on heaven's door. Any thought of Dominic brings a smile to my face. His kind words, his unassuming presence, his joy and pleasure from the simple things in life. In my early sobriety, his encouragement meant the world. He never preached - just led by example. My condolences to his beloved Bunny, Tommy and his family.

So many absolutely beautiful memories. Dominic and Bunny gave me some citron seeds about 20 years ago. I save the seeds and plant them every year and think of both of you in doing sow.. I think they came from Bernie Daugherty.originally. I will try my best to keep planting the seeds on an annual basis in memory of you. And by the way many of my fellow gardeners who I gave seeds to are doing the same. Your beautiful memory will linger on. God bless this fantastic human being

I am deeply saddened by the passing of this wonderful, kind, gentle soul. Fred and I loved him and always tried to be near when he sang his songs or shared his Irish wit. Visiting Mom in the manor one day, Bunny and Dominic came by her room. No sooner than saying hello were we treated to a song! R.I.P. God love you, Bunny!

A great old friend died the other day
His time just slowly then finally slipped away
93 years, 71 with one arm
From North Onslow Quebec
Born and raised on a farm
He worked with his father and brothers at his side
He picked a Violet one spring
And made her his bride
A bushman by trade and he knew it well
With only one arm, did you ever hear tell
Chopping wood till near 90 while whistling a tune
Danced on a platform in the light of the moon
68 years of marriage with his beloved Bunny
No question exists that she was his honey
Along came young Tommy, a child to hold
To raise and to nurture and when all is told
Love for his parents is quite plain to see
It’s all just the way it was all meant to be
Honest and wise and true till the end
We were lucky to have Dominic Foran as a friend

Bunny and Tommy our thoughts are with you. Having grown up beside Dominic and experiencing all that he was is a testament to the fortitude of this family and community.
There is a moment from 3 or 4 years ago that sticks in my memory and will forever.
We stopped for a visit.
He had just finished mowing his considerable lawn on his riding mower and was doing the cleanup with a hand pushed mower. One armed, rubber boots, bit of rain and almost 90 years old. You don't see that every day. Pretty darn good.

Great guy. At almost every fastball game I can remember.
Didn't matter if it was a tournie in Renfrew, Carp, Calumet, Campbell's Bay, Quyon or the home ballpark at Paddy Madden's with Bob McSweeny umping 1st base in a lawn chair. Weather was irrelevant. Always felt like a home game when you can look in the stands and see Dominic, Stanley & Clement.
Lots of laughs unless you were an euchre opponent. Master of non-verbal table talk!!
R.I.P. my friend and my best to all.

An Irish gentleman. Heaven just got a little brighter. I remember Dominic all of my life and he and his brothers and sisters held a special place in our home. We were fortunate to grow up with such fine people around us. They added much to our life: music, dance, laughter, storytelling, and the best of friendships. To dearest Bunny, Tommy and family, my condolences and prayers. I know you there are many in line to welcome him home. May you have comfort in this and all the wonderful memories.

When I was young my dad (Harold Kearns)would always stop by to see Dominic & Bunny. My first memory was of Dominic always giving me the little cup of ice cream and the wooden spoon from the store. After that many years spent at the camp, cutting wood, fishing and wonderful stories it was always a Dandy Day! He was truly one of the best!

The only man who could call trump with nothing in his hand and win! Everytime us young lads would ride out from the camp with him, he'd shut the truck off on the last hill, throw it in neutral and say "let's see how far we roll today!"
From hunting season, to ski-doo trips, to family gatherings, he was always the most fun to be around. Another one of our childhood idols is gone. Say hello to Stanley and Ma for us!

While reading Dominic’s obituary, I chuckled as I was reminded of the time we were at Fiddle Park in Pembroke. Fiddler after fiddler would walk into the tent and join the entertainers. Amongst the crowd were some spoon players. Dominic stood up and folded his lawn chair. I asked why he was leaving and he said “them damn spoons have taken over”! RIP Dominic you were hard to beat!
