Mrs Smiley was a fantastic teacher and was a beacon to many of her students during dark times in our lives. She was not only a wonderful teacher, she was a compassionate and love-filled human being.

I have many fond memories of Madelon- from visiting her on King St., and being tutored in French on the farm, and in more recent years, planning Hayes Family Reunions at her home on Allan Black Crescent. I will always remember Mrs. Smiley.
She was an excellent teacher and person.
She was a wonderful friend to my grandmother (Harriet MacDonald).
