Obituary of Kervyn Burman
Passed away after a brief illness, in hospital, Shawville, on Friday, January 5th in his 85th year. Survived by his children Randy (Jennifer Dale), Sheryl (Ian Wallace), Cindy (Barrie Yach), Dana (Shiela Belland) and Roxanne (Pat Shea). Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, June Ebert and son Kerry Andrew, sister Velma and brother Howard. Lovingly missed by 16 grandchildren Kendra (Lucas), Derek (Jamie), Daniel, Kyle, Nicholas (Marta), Alexa (Kris), Brittany (James), Andrew (Jen), Cody, Mallory, Jordan (Monia), Robyn, Tyler (Stephanie), Kellie (Mike), Martin (Chanelle) and Alex (Jessica). Grandpa Burman had a special place in his heart for his 7 great granddaughters Jacey, Ellia, Livvy and Dezi Russell, Shealie Griffin, Maple Shea and Madison Shea. Also survived by sister Lillian Green.
Kervyn had a career in instrumentation at Hilton Mines and later at Consolidated Bathurst Pulp and Paper Mill. One of his greatest joys in life was playing hockey. He fondly spoke of his 3 years of Junior Hockey in Shawville playing under Bill Gibson. He also played Senior hockey briefly with Shawville Pontiacs but most of his career he played for Campbell's Bay Royals.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel. Donations in his memory to the Free Methodist Church, Campbell’s Bay or Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
