On July 17, 2017, our mother says au revoir to her husband and we say au revoir to our Dad.
Our father was a strong, courageous and mindful of is responsibility. His greatest concern was to take care of his family.
Even if life has put several obstacles in its path:
- Like a car accident that hospitalized for a few years.
- sickness
He has always been able to overcome his obstacles and continue to take care of his family.
Several people will say, he is now well, he no longer suffers.
But my father did not see the accident and the sickness or his ailments that he endured, like suffering, he saw it as part of life.
He will continue to live in our hearts and minds.
Thank you, families and friends for coming to say au revoir to our dad.
Do not cry for what is no longer, but be happy for what has been.

Strong, Tough, Giving, Helpful, Loving, My Giant Hero.
Strong: I was there when he picked up a truck transmission and put it on his shoulder and carried it to the garage
because the delivery trucks lift was broken.
Tough: I was there when he cut a deep gash in his calf with the chainsaw. He took my sleeve rolled it and packed the cut
and continued to cut enough fire wood to fill the trailer. Then we went, home emptied the trailer, had a cup of
tea, got stitches, then went back for a second load.
Giving: We had a huge garden (200 by 150 ft). I thought, why? Then trough out the summer after picking for us, we would
fill bags of veggies and give them away to people that needed it.
Helpful: I was there when he helped so many people and did some work for free, even when I saw that he was tired. But he
said it needed to be done and they really needed help.
Loving: This man's love for his family can never be matched
He is my Giant Hero because of the above and so much more. I love him with all my heart and soul.

My found memory of a family tree.
I was about 7 or 8 years old and I had to draw a family tree for art class. I had to draw it with the help of my parents. I remember sitting at kitchen table frustrated and stressed because every tree I drew look like a stick with a ball on top.
My father asked me what I was doing, and I told him about my art project. He didn't say a word and walk away. After a few hours I gave up and went to my room. I was so frustrated that I couldn't draw a simple tree.
My father walk into my room and he gave a peace of paper, and there it was the most beautiful family tree I had ever seen. He had sat in his chair and drew a tree for me and it was beautifully done. Every branch and every leafs were meticulously drawn. The leaves were the perfect shade of green. It was like looking at something from a fairy tale where magic is possible.
I was so proud to present my drawing to the class. I didn't get the highest mark because it was my father's drawing, but I didn't care because it was perfect.
Today I'm sitting here thinking, how could a gentle giant draw something so delicate. He was extremely humble and kind. He had hidden talents that would amaze us all every once in a while.
Love Madeleine
