Obituary of Meryl Hobbs (nee Barber)

Peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2017, Meryl Audrey Cora left us to be with Weldon, her beloved husband of 63 years. Mom was a woman of strong faith, compassion, determination and strength of character. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her in kind, gentle and giving ways. Her family was always first in her life. This selflessness made her a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She leaves so many memories to cherish and sustain us. Predeceased by her loving husband, Weldon James Ian Hobbs (April 9, 2012), her parents Bruce and Mae (Palmer) Barber. She is survived by her loving daughters JoAnne (John) Nimchuk and Marilyn (Lloyd) McNally, her grandchildren Nicholas, Johanna, Christina, Michael and Brittany, great-grandchildren Javan, Alaya, Audrianna and Lenox, her sisters Amy Griffith, Isabel (late Bud) Elliott and Lois (late Bill) Callaghan and sisters-in-law Marian, Mary and Ruth (Eason Russell) and many nieces and nephews.

 Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of the Long Term Care Unit, Shawville Hospital, who gave our mother such loving care. Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shawville, Quebec.  Reception to follow at the Shawville Community Lodge (Senior's Centre), Shawville, Quebec..

We will always love her and miss her quick wit and beautiful eyes.
