Dear Rowat Family:
We have been out of the country and just learned of 'Raymie's' death. We send condolences to all of you. I,Tom attended high school with the older brothers and knew them best at the time. Later Raymie and I lived at Diocesan College at the same time. I think John Brough was also there at the time. I have many very happy memories of times with Raymie but likely none as profound as each of you. He was a great friend and went on to a great professional and family life. He was an ushet at my wedding in 1948.
May the prayers of your friends and many memories help you during this trying time.
Gwyn and Tom

Dear Doug, Nancy and Family,
I was sorry to read about your Dad's death. It is a tribute to him and all that he meant to you that the write up was the best one I have ever read. I want you to know that I am thinking of you today. The sun is shining here in Toronto. I hope it is warming you up in Shawville.
Sincerely, Neil MacMillan

Dear Doug, Nancy, David, Andrew, Bob and Alison,
The loss of a loved one, are moments for which we are never prepared.
Raymond is no longer suffering and he left in peace and surrounded by you all. We must remember the good times you spent together. Time helps to heal wounds.
We keep very good memories of your mother and Raymond, even though over the years we did not see them often. His love for music was the big connexion that we have and we can keep talking forever when music was the topic.
He has now started his new journey and will overlook and take care of you all.
Our thoughts are with you.
With all our love,
Verónica (Lucien) & Romulo

Such a wonderful caring man, who was so respected by all who knew him. My parents LLoyd & Lois Kensley always looked to "Mr." Rowat" when ever there was business transactions to be done. I remember accompanying my parents to Mr. Rowats office
many times over many years and knew the high esteem Mr. Rowat was held in the lives of so many people in the Pontiac and beyond. He leaves a wonderful Legacy of love of Family, Nature, Community and Business.

Uncle Raymond was a wonderful uncle, caring person and dear brother to our father. In my childhood years, their offices were located above and below one another. I enjoyed just entering the office building in anticipatation of hearing Uncle Raymond call my name, and he always did, somehow.
He was a wonderful role model who derived great joy from his community, family, friends and of course music. Uncle Raymond will always hold a special place in my memory and heart.
My condolences to my cousins and Uncle Raymond's very dear grandchildren.

Raymond and I were lifelong friends. We grew up across the street from each other in Shawville, went through school together, played together and skied together, the greatest of pals. Then we were off to Montreal where he went to McGill and I went to Sir George Williams. Our paths diverged when he returned to Shawville, and I went into the United Church ministry away from the valley. However, we remained friends, and I helped officiate at his marriage to Carol. Even though we didnÂt see each other often, the friendship endured, and one the last times we visited, we went for a long walk in the evening back to our old homes, and around the village. My wife, Elizabeth joins me in sending our sincere condolences. Raymond was a good and kind man, and a friend to so many.

Nancy,
I know you and Ernest haven't lived in Toronto for awhile now. I fondly remember our coffee dates when you would tell me about your family, and your father's woodchopping . Your father sounded like such a lovely man with so many qualities, interests, and affectionately accepted quirks. My condolences to you and your family.

I always had hoped to meet 'Uncle Raymond' but alas never did. My mother was Norma de Kepsie Rowat, daughter of Richard Miles Rowat of TMR, Montreal. I recall, as relatives saw ends inching closer, mentioning Raymond's name as a trusted person. I believe Morley was one. I am Duncan Miles White of Nara, Japan, pen name of Richard Rowat.
